If you have a bigger arc is not where it is at on the diagram, the back up can get down in the body cavity. Your port plates could be off by seven degrees. In these styles of pumps, all of them might not have these port plates. The up to date versions get rid of the back up ring. So make sure you look your unit over for replacement parts if needed. Use holes that are marked “H” for both port plates.The distance from the pump mounting flange to the center of the port has went up by 5/16″* The shim comes in handy when you use a torque control or if you have an old style compensator that has a tear drop counterbore. If you have to do conversions be sure to change the name tag coding.
